Johnson open to a visit

Ennis (Tex.) athlete Jah'Shawn Johnson has stayed in regular contact with the Washington coaches and he's liked what he's heard so far.

Especially the part about playing time.

"I talk to coach [Keith] Heyward and I have a pretty good relationship with him. He's a very nice guy," he said. "He's just told me that I'm one of the best [prospects] that he's seen and that I can come in and be a freshman All-American. He's said some nice stuff."

When asked whether he would take an official visit to Washington, Johnson replied, "Probably so."

Here's the catch: Johnson told UDUBNation.com that he may make a decision as soon as August, though he did say he could wait until later in the year when official visits would have come into play.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound athlete is a three-star prospect ranked the No. 91 recruit in the state.

Most schools are recruiting Johnson as a safety but some schools have told him that he could play corner.

Johnson has eleven offers altogether and he's not sure of what his summer plans are yet. Kansas, Colorado State, and SMU are the most recent schools to offer him.

"I did visit SMU and I went to Baylor [this week]," he said. "Baylor was alright. It was okay. It wasn't too much. I guess it was alright.

"I don't have any favorites but I want to narrow it down pretty soon."

Johnson said location probably will not be a factor in his decision - at least for him. His parents might think differently.
