Ducks flying in rarified air

The Ducks fly in rarefied air these days. Hard to believe that 15 years ago the best season in school history was a 9-2 year from 1948 that included a loss to SMU in the Cotton Bowl, and that the recruiting roster was once dotted with two-star safeties and unheralded offensive linemen, many from in-state.

These days the Ducks compete head-to-head for top prospects around the country, and battle Alabama and Ohio State for the top spot in the polls.

If you'd borrowed the DeLorean and fired up the flux capacitor, traveling forward from 1986, no one would believe you when you got back. Two Oregon targets visited at Florida State this weekend, and the Ducks still have a shot at both.
