The first star rankings for the 2017 class were released by Rivals on Monday morning. Six players in the state were ranking on the initial Rivals100 watch list. The players included Markail Benton, four-star linebacker from Central High School in Phenix City, Austin Troxell, four-star offensive tackle from Madison Academy High School, Nico Collins, four-star wide receiver from Clay-Chalkville High School, Alaric Williams, four-star running back from Southside High School in Gadsden, Will Ignont, four-star linebacker from Buckhorn High School in New Market and Malcolm Askew, four-star athlete from McAdory High School in McCalla.
