Kenterrius Gray talks recruiting

Kenterrius Gray, running back from Clay-Chalkville High School in the 2013 recruiting class, took his first unofficial visit of the season to UT-Chattanooga this past weekend. Gray's size makes him stand out among others throughout the state in which schools are beginning to take notice.

Gray spoke about his conversation with the UT-Chattanooga coaching staff.

"I have been talking to them since the spring," he said. "I went up to see them play this weekend; they played Appalachian State. There were tickets saved for me at the stadium. I talked to the head coach [Russ Huesman], running back coach [Thomas Brown], and my recruiting coach. They were telling me I was a good size running back, and they can do something with me. They were shocked at my size."

The visit was one in which Gray enjoyed and felt comfortable on the campus.

"It was good," says Gray. "The coaches made the game atmosphere good. They really like the school and everything. I just like the atmosphere, the fans, and everything. I was really feeling it. I liked the way they run their offense; they run a power spread offense."

Gray spoke of his interest in the UT-Chattanooga program.

"Well I am interested in them," he said. "It is like a medium interest because I don't have an offer from them right now, but I can see myself playing in the state of Tennessee."

Other programs within in the state are also showing interest in the talented prospect. These schools include Samford, Alabama State, and one out-of-state school, Central Arkansas.

"Samford wants me to come to their next home game," Gray said. "I'm gonna go. I got a Facebook message from Coach Brandon Herring, my recruiting coach from Samford, around Tuesday or Wednesday of last week. I got two letters from other schools. One from Alabama State and one from Central Arkansas saying they want to me to come to one of their games.
