Troxell paves way for state title

Austin Troxell, 2017 offensive tackle from Madison Academy High School in Ala., is easy to spot on the field with his 6-foot-8, 275-pound frame. He plays left tackle for the three-time defending Class 3A State Champions. He helped pave the way for the Mustangs with 395 yards rushing in a 70-34 win against Dale County.
"It's great," Troxell said after winning the state championship. We are keeping the tradition going. It was great especially to get the win for the seniors. They are the winningest class in the history of MA football.

"This was the best we have played all year. To put up 70 points in a game is tough. It's going to be a little bit of a change with Kerryon (Johnson) not here next year. We will have Malik (Miller) coming back. I think we will be fine."
Troxell is starting to generate recruiting interest and collected his first SEC offer a few month ago.
"My first offer came from Auburn," he said. "It surprised me when I got the offer. I wasn't expecting it. It was a great feeling to get the offer though.
"I came down to Auburn for a game earlier this season. The atmosphere was great. The coaching staff they have here is great. I really like the program."
The sophomore will have plenty of other offers come through during in the next couple of years. He hopes to receive an offer from another in-state program.
"I really want an Alabama offer," Troxell said. "I grew up an Alabama fan. That's the offer I really want to get. I haven't been down there for a visit yet. I want to get down there. I like everything about them."
